Members of the 261st Aviation Regiment from Germany also came to visit the United States for their part of the Military Exchange in August, 1999. The mission was intended to acquaint the soldiers with Washington, DC, and develop a better understanding between NATO partners to create a stronger alliance. The events in Bosnia and Kosovo underscore the significance of cooperation between allied military forces. The mission was a success.

The group showed considerable enthusiasm during their visit to the Air and Space Museum and then continued on to other government buildings.

Understanding the defense postures and political cultures of our countries can benefit the cooperation and strong military relationships between our two countries.

ALL who participated saw real VALUABLE TRAINING.
